पास्का का पाँचवाँ सप्ताह

प्रेरित फ़िलिप और याकूब - पर्व

📒 पहला पाठ : कुरिन्थियों के नाम सन्त पौलुस का पहला पत्र 15:1-8

1) भाइयो! मैं आप लोगेां को उस सुसमाचार का स्मरण दिलाना चाहता हूँ, जिसका प्रचार मैंने आपके बीच किया, जिसे आपने ग्रहण किया, जिस में आप दृढ बने हुये हैं,

2) और यदि आप उसे उसी रूप में बनाये रखेंगे, जिस रूप में मैंने उसे आप को सुनाया, तो उसके द्वारा आप को मुक्ति मिलेगी। नहीं तो आपका विश्वाश व्यर्थ होगा।

3) मैंने आप लोगों को मुख्य रूप से वही शिक्षा सुनायी, जो मुझे मिली थी और वह इस प्रकार है- मसीह हमारे पापों के प्रायश्चित के लिए मरे, जैसा कि धर्मग्रन्थ में लिखा है।

4) वह कब्र में रखे गये और तीसरे दिन जी उठे, जैसा कि धर्मग्रन्थ में लिखा है।

5) वह कैफ़स को और बाद में बारहों में दिखाई दिये।

6) फिर वही एक ही समय पाँच सौ से अधिक भाइयों को दिखाई दिये। उन में से अधिकांश आज भी जीवित हैं, यद्यपि कुछ मर गये हैं।

7) बाद में वह याकूब को और फिर सब प्रेरितों को दिखाई दिये।

8) सब के बाद वह मुझे भी, मानों ठीक समय से पीछे जन्में को दिखाई दिये।

📙 सुसमाचार : सन्त योहन 14:6-14

6) ईसा ने उस से कहा, ’’मार्ग सत्य और जीवन मैं हूँ। मुझ से हो कर गये बिना कोई पिता के पास नहीं आ सकता।’’

7) यदि तुम मुझे पहचानते हो, तो मेरे पिता को भी पहचानोगे। अब तो तुम लोगों ने उसे पहचाना भी है और देखा भी है।’’

8) फिलिप ने उन से कहा, ’’प्रभु! हमें पिता के दर्शन कराइये। हमारे लिये इतना ही बहुत है।’’

9) ईसा ने कहा, ’’फिलिप! मैं इतने समय तक तुम लोगों के साथ रहा, फिर भी तुमने मुझे नहीं पहचाना? जिसने मुझे देखा है उसने पिता को भी देखा है। फिर तुम यह क्या कहते हो- हमें पिता के दर्शन कराइये?’’

10) क्या तुम विश्वास नहीं करते कि मैं पिता में हूँ और पिता मुझ में हैं? मैं जो शिक्षा देता हूँ वह मेरी अपनी शिक्षा नहीं है। मुझ में निवास करने वाला पिता मेरे द्वारा अपने महान कार्य संपन्न करता है।

11) मेरी इस बात पर विश्वास करो कि मैं पिता में हूँ और पिता मुझ में हैं, नहीं तो उन महान कार्यों के कारण ही इस बात पर विश्वास करो।

12) मैं तुम लोगो से यह कहता हूँ जो मुझ में सिवश्वास करता है, वह स्वयं वे कार्य करेगा, जिन्हें मैं करता हूँ। वह उन से भी महान कार्य करेगा। क्योंकि मैं पिता के पास जा रहा हूँ।

13) तुम मेरा नाम ले कर जो कुछ माँगोगे, मैं तुम्हें वही प्रदान करूँगा, जिससे पुत्र के द्वारा पिता की महिमा प्रकट हो।

14) यदि तुम मेरा नाम लेकर मुझ से कुछ भी माँगोगें, तो मैं तुम्हें वही प्रदान करूँगा।

📚 मनन-चिंतन

आज प्रेरित संत फिलिप और याकूब का पर्व है। सुसमाचार अल्फाई के पुत्र याकूब के बारे में अधिक जानकारी प्रदान नहीं करते। वहीं चौथे सुसमाचार में, फिलिप को एक ऐसे व्यक्ति के रूप में दर्शाया गया है जो दूसरों को प्रभु येसु के पास लाता है। नाथानएल के लिए उनका आमंत्रण कि – ‘आओ और देखो’ सभी शिष्यों के लिए प्रभु येसु के साथ एक गहरा व्यक्तिगत संबंध विकसित करने का निमंत्रण है। प्रभु येसु का आश्वासन, “जिसने मुझे देखा है उसने पिता को देखा है,” फिलिप के इस अनुरोध का जवाब था कि “हमें पिता दर्शन कराइए।” प्रभु येसु के वचनों और कार्यों के माध्यम से, हम पिता इश्वर को देखते और जानते हैं। प्रभु ने पिता को पूरी तरह से प्रकट किया है क्योंकि वे ‘देहधारी वचन हैं।’ संत पिता बेनेडिक्ट सोलहवें के अनुसार, ‘संत फिलिप हमें सिखलाते हैं कि सच्चे ईश्वर और सत्य को खोजने के लिए हमें चाहिए कि हम प्रभु येसु को हमारी हर अभिलाषा व महत्वकांक्षाओं पर विजय पाने दें तथा खुद को प्रभु येसु की संगती में रहने हेतु समर्पित करें।’ प्रभु येसु के साथ संगती अर्थात् उनके साथ सत्संग के लिए सबसे उत्तम माध्यम है उनके वचनों को पढना और पवित्र संस्कारों में पुरे दिल व मन से शिरकत करना।

📚 REFLECTION

Today we celebrate the feast of the Apostles James and Philp. The Gospels do not provide much information about James the son of Alphaeus. In the Fourth Gospel, Philip is depicted as a person who brings others to Jesus. When he invites Nathanael to ‘Come and see,’ it is an invitation to all the disciples to develop a deep personal relationship with Jesus by being with him. Jesus’ assurance, “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father,” was a response to Philip’s request to “show us the Father.” Through the words and deeds of Jesus, we see and know God. Jesus reveals the Father perfectly because he is the ‘Word made flesh.’ According to Benedict XVI, ‘Philip teaches us to allow ourselves to be won over by Jesus, to be with him, and to invite others to join us in this essential company; and in seeing, to find God and true life.’

आज का सुसमाचार हमें प्रभु येसु एवं पिता ईश्वर के एक होने के बारे में बताता है। पिता और पुत्र दोनों एक है। जिसने प्रभु येसु को देखा है उसने पिता को भी देखा है । पुत्र को देखकर हम पिता को पहचान सकते हैं। किसी ने पिता ईश्वर को नहीं देखा है, प्रभु येसु उसी अदृश्य ईश्वर का चेहरा बन जाते । प्रभु येसु ने अपने जीवन के द्वारा पिता ईश्वर के वास्तविक स्वभाव को हमारे सामने प्रकट किया था। हम प्रभु येसु के द्वारा पिता ईश्वर से करूणामय स्वभाव को पहचान पाए। प्रभु येसू के वचन और कार्य पिता ईश्वर के द्वारा प्रेरित किए गए थे इसलिए प्रभु येसु को देखना और उन्हें अनुभव करना पिता ईश्वर को देखने और अनुभव करने के समान है

प्रभु येसु ने हमें अपने शिष्य एवं अनुयायी बनने के लिए बुलाया है जिस तरह से प्रभ येसु पिता ईश्वर की पहचान बन गए थे उसी तरह से हम भी प्रभु येसू की पहचान बनने के लिए बुलाए गए हैं। जिस तरह से येसु पिता ईश्वर के साथ एक थे उसी तरह से हमें भी प्रभु येसु के साथ एक होना है। क्या हमारे कार्य हमारे प्रभु से प्रेरित है क्या सारी दुनिया के लोग हमें देख कर प्रभु येसू के दर्शन कर सकते हैं ?

📚 REFLECTION

Today’s Gospel passage reminds us of the intimacy and oneness of God, the father and Jesus the son. The son and the father are one. Whoever has seen Jesus also has seen the Father. They are identical to each other. No one has seen God, Jesus becomes the face of that invisible God. His way of life expressed the true nature of God, we could see and experience the compassionate face of the father in Jesus. The works and words of Jesus came from the father, therefore seeing and experiencing Jesus, is to see and experience the father.

We are called and chosen by Jesus to be his followers and disciples. As Jesus became the face of the father, similarly, we are invited to be the face of Jesus. As Jesus was united with the father and was one with him, we are also called to be united with Jesus. Do our words and actions proceed from Jesus? Can the world identify us with our Lord?

प्रेरित थॉमस ने अभी-अभी यीशु से पूछा, 'हम रास्ता कैसे जान सकते हैं?' यह एक ऐसा सवाल है जो इस समय हम में से कई लोग खुद से पूछ रहे होंगे। अपनी प्रतिक्रिया के रूप में, यीशु कहते हैं, 'यदि आप मुझे जानते हैं, तो आप मेरे पिता को भी जानेंगे ... मैं पिता में हूँ और पिता मुझ में है।' यीशु हम में से प्रत्येक के लिए एक सुराग, या एक नक्शा प्रदान कर रहे हैं। परमेश्वर जो प्रेम है, यीशु में वास करता है, और यीशु परमेश्वर में वास करता है, इसलिए हर बार जब हम प्रेम के कार्य में भाग लेते हैं, तो परमेश्वर की उपस्थिति हमारे हृदयों में जीवित होती है। और ऐसा करने में, हम यीशु और उस परमेश्वर में अपने विश्वास की गवाही देते हैं जिसका सार प्रेम है। हम रास्ता कैसे जान सकते हैं?

यह प्रेम का, सत्य का, अच्छाई का और सौंदर्य का मार्ग है। परमेश्वर में वास करने वाला पवित्र आत्मा, मार्ग का नेतृत्व करेगा। क्या हम सुन रहे हैं और प्रत्युत्तर दे रहे हैं?

येसु का शिष्य और प्रेरित फिलिप गैलील में जेनेसारेथ झील के तट पर बेथसैदा के मूल निवासी थे। वह सबसे पहले प्रेरितों में से एक था और नतनएल के बुलाहट में सहायक था। जैसे ही उसने मसीहा की खोज की, जो अपने मित्र नतनएल को उसकी खुशी में भागी बनाना चाहता था, फिलिप उसके पास गया और कहा: "हमें वह मिल गया है जिसके बारे में मूसा ने कानून में और भविष्यवक्ताओं ने लिखा था, यीशु नजरेत का"। नतनएल ने आश्चर्य से पूछा: “क्या नजरेत से कोई अच्छी चीज़ आ सकती है?” फिलिप ने उत्तर दिया: "आओ और देखो" (यूहन्ना 1:45)। वह फिलिप के साथ गया और यीशु को “परमेश्वउर का पुत्र . . . . , इस्राएल के राजा!” (जं 1:49) स्वीकार किया।

सेंट जेम्स कनिष्ट, सेंट जूड थडियस का भाई था और आमतौर पर माना जाता है कि येसु का चचेरा भाई - उसकी मां, मैरी ऑफ क्लोपास धन्य कुंवारी मरियम की बहन थी। एक सबसे प्यारा, धर्मपरायण और तपस्वी व्यक्ति, जेम्स ‘न्यायी’ ("द जस्ट") जैसा कि वह भी जाना जाता था, यरूशलेम का पहला बिशप बन गया और अपने दान, मंदिर और प्राचीन यहूदी रीति-रिवाजों के प्रति उसके श्रद्धापूर्ण लगाव के साथ-साथ उसकी शांति के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। हेरोदेस द्वारा धर्म उत्पीड़न में प्राण दिया।

जेम्स को ("एपिसल") उनके परिपत्र के लिए जाना जाता है जिसे उन्होंने लिखा था (सी.47 ईस्वी), संभावित रूप से सीरिया में कलीसिया को संबोधित किया, जिनके सदस्यों ने अपने नए पाए गए विश्वास के कारण खुद को भेदभाव और उत्पीड़न में पाया। सेंट जेम्स कनिष्ट, जो ज़ेबेदी के बेटे, जेम्स नाम के दूसरे प्रेरित से अलग है ।

चिंतन: " यीशु मसीह के एक वफादार सैनिक के रूप में दुख में अपना हिस्सा लें" (सेंट पॉल - 2 तीमुथियुस 2:3)।

📚 REFLECTION

`Today we are celebrating the Feast of the two of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus, Sts. Philip and James. As a rule, the Church considers the twelve apostles so important that each one of them was given a separate feast. However, there are two exceptions to this rule. The apostles Simon and Jude are remembered together on October 28. The other exception is, of course, the pairing of Philip and James in today’s feast.

St. Philip (c. 1st century) was from Bethsaida. Tradition holds that he preached in Phrygia, dying on a cross at Hierapolis; and two apocryphal books were attributed to him. With St. James, he is venerated as the patron saint of Uruguay.

According to the 365 Days with the Lord (2007) that throughout the gospels, Philip appears in four cameo scenes. First, there is the mention of his call (Jn 1:43-44).

Second, before the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves (Jn 6:5-7), Jesus asked Philip whether they could buy enough food for the big crowd, and he answered that even 200 days’ wages would not suffice to feed them. The question was meant to test his faith in the power of Jesus, and he failed the test since it never entered his mind to ask Jesus for a miracle.

Thirdly, Philip re-appears on the gospel scene when a group of Greeks, who wanted an interview with Jesus, asked Philip to act as a go-between. Why him? Probably because he spoke Greek since he had a Greek name (Philip is Greek for “lover of horses”) and he came from the lake town of Bethsaida, where Greek was widely spoken.

The last appearance of Philip takes place at the Last Supper (Jn 14:8-9), when he asked Jesus to show them the Father, and Jesus gently rebuked him: “Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?”

The other apostle we remember today is St. James. He is surnamed, ‘the Less’ (July 25). Or ‘the Just’ for his piety; believed to have been beaten or stoned to death; a patron of the dying.

Together with St. Philip, he is mentioned in the Roman Canon. We know that there are two James as apostles of Jesus, Sts. James the son of Alphaeus and James the son of Zebedee and the brother of John.

Today’s feast of St. James is the son of Alphaeus. We know a little about him. St. James the son of Alphaeus was the same as James of Jerusalem, the cousin of Jesus; later became the first bishop of Jerusalem; played an important role at the Council of Jerusalem (Acts 15); and probably the one wrote the Letter of James we have in the Bible.

He asks Jesus: “Master, show us the Father and that will be enough for us,” (v.8). He is fulfilled as we say if this request is granted to him..

But where do we find our fulfilment and satisfaction? In other words, to be fulfilled is to be filled with God, to be with God. Are we still looking for something or are we looking for someone who is Jesus, our fulfilment and satisfaction. He says: “I am the way and the truth and the life,” (v. 6).

📚 मनन-चिंतन - 4

प्रभु येसु ने इस संसार में अपने कार्य को आगे ले चलने के लिए बारहों शिष्यों को चंुना जो आगे चल कर प्रेरित कहलाये। आज माता कलीसिया उन बारहों में से दो प्रेरित -संत फिलिप और संत याकुब का स्मरण करते हुये उनका पर्व मनाती है। प्रेरित कलीसिया के मजबूत प्रचारक थे जिन्होने अपने जीवन द्वारा जीवित प्रभु का साक्ष्य दिया।

बाईबिल में याकुब के विषय में बहुत ही कम विवरण दिया गया है। परंतु फिलिप के विषय में याकुब से ज्यादा विवरण पाते है। आज के सुसमाचार में भी हम प्रभु येसु और फिलिप के बीच में वार्तालाप को पाते है जहॉं प्रभु येसु एक महान रहस्य फिलिप के प्रश्न का उत्तर देते समय प्रकट करते है- ‘‘जिसने मुझे देखा है उसने पिता को भी देखा है।’’

जब कभी हम किसी प्रेरित संत का पर्व मनाते है तब हमारे सामने उनके जीवन के तीन भागों पर मनन करना चाहिए-

पहला-प्रेरितों का प्रभु येसु से मिलने से पहले का जीवन

दूसरा-प्ररितों का प्रभु येसु के साथ बिताया हुआ जीवन

तीसना-प्रेरितों का प्रभु येसु के पुनरुत्थान के बाद का जीवन

पहले जीवन भाग अर्थात् प्रभु येसु से मिलने से पहले वे अज्ञानता में जीवन व्यतीत कर रहें थे, एक संसारिक जीवन जी रहें थे।

दूसरे भाग में जहॉं वे प्रभु येसु के साथ समय बिताते है- जहॉं पर वे प्रभु येसु के चमत्कारों को देखते है, उनके प्रवचन और दृष्टांतों को सुनते है, येसु के द्वारा प्रकट किये गये महान रहस्यों को सुनते है लेकिन वे उन सब को उस समय नहीं समझ पाते है।

तीसरे भाग में प्रभु येसु के पुनरुत्थान और पवित्र आत्मा से भरने के बाद उनको प्रभु येसु द्वारा कहीं गई सभी बातों और रहस्यों को अर्थ पता चलता है, उन्हे पता चलता है कि येसु कौन है? और उस से भी अधिक वे संासारिक जीवन से उपर उठ कर उन्हें अपने जीवन का अर्थ और जीवन का मकसद पता चलता है।

ये तीनों भाग प्रेरितों के जीवन में प्रमुख भुमिका निभाती है जहॉं पर वे साधारण जीवन से महान संत के रूप में उभर कर सामने आते है। प्रेरितो का जीवन हम सभी को प्रेरणा देता है कि हम भी येसु और अपने जीवन के मकसद को पहचाने और यह तभी हो सकता है जब हम यह तीनों जीवन के भाग को पूर्णता तक इस संसार में जीयंे। हममें से अधिकतर लोग पहले या दूसरे जीवन के भाग में ही सिमट कर रह जाते है। आईये हम प्रेरित फिलिप और याकुब से प्रार्थना करें कि जिस प्रकार उन्होंने प्रभु और उनके इस संसार में आने के मकसद को पहचान कर उनके कार्यों के लिए अपने जीवन तक को न्योछावर कर दिया, हम भी उसी प्रकार येसु को सच्चे रूप में पहचान सकें।

📚 REFLECTION

Jesus chose the twelve disciples who were later called Apostles to carry forward his mission in this world. Among the twelve, today the Catholic Church remembers the two Apostles- St.Philip and St. James and celebrates their feasts. Apostles were the strong preacher who witnessed the Lord through their lives

There is very less information about St.James in the Bible, but there is somewhat more description of Philip than James in the Bible. In today’s Gospel passage we see the conversation between Jesus and Philip where Lord Jesus reveals the great mystery while answering to the question of Philip- “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.”

Wheneve we celebrate the feasts of any Apostles then we have to reflect the three phases of their lives-

First-The life of Apostles before encountering Jesus

Second- The life of Apostles spend with Jesus

Third- The life of Apostles after the Resurrection of Jesus

In the first phase of their lives i.e., before meeting Jesus there were living an ignorant life, a worldly life.

In Second phase where they spend their lives with Jesus- They witness the miracles of Jesus, they hear the sermons and parables of Jesus, they listen the great mysteries revealed by Jesus but at that moment they were not able to understand it fully.

In the Third phase- After the Resurrection of Jesus and filling of the Holy Spirit they understand the meaning of the words and mystery spoken by Jesus, they come to know who the Jesus really is? And all the more they rise above the worldlylives and come to know the meaning and purpose of their lives.

These three phases plays an important role in the lives of Apostles where they come forward as the great Saint from their simple lives. Life of Apostles gives us an inspiration that we must also recognize Jesus and the purpose of our lives and this is only possible when we live all these three phases of lives in this world. Most of us remain in the first or second phase only. Let’s pray to St. Philip and St. James as they recognized Jesus and the purpose of his coming surrendered their lives for it, we too may be able to recognize Jesus in true way.
